An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pathway Service to work with young people aged 14-25, their families and other professionals.

We are looking to appoint a number of Young Person's Advisor's across the service to support young people aged 14 to 25 to provide a personal advisor service in accordance with The Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and Social Services and Well Being (Wales) Act 2014.

You will also be providing a service to looked after children aged 14+ to develop their levels of independence, resilience and keeping themselves safe alongside the allocated social worker and other professionals.


The Pathway Service is comprised of three Pathway Teams, including team managers, senior practitioners, social workers, young person's advisors and social work assistants.

We work with children and young people up to the age of 25 and their families.

There are also a number of agencies operating locally who work with the young people and their families to improve their lives.

Supervision is regular and the opportunities for career development and training are excellent. Newport itself is a great place to live and work being a geographically small city with a diverse population. It is situated on the M4 corridor and is located between Bristol and Cardiff with excellent transport links. For this role you will be a practitioner with BTEC Health and Social Care, NVQ Level 3 in Child Care or extensive experience in working with children and young people who have experienced the looked after system.
