Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the designated planning function to deliver the operational tasks required for the safe and efficient operation of the business plan.
  • Schedule projects 28 days in advance to maximise business efficiency and to minimise the safety, health, and environmental risks. Where any operational constraint is encountered effecting the planned works this is to be escalated to the Operations Manager on point of establishment.
  • Notify the client of all constraints preventing the works to be planned and in doing so working with all relevant parties to find a resolution.
  • On receipt of Job Packs undertake review of BOM working with the store's manager to ensure the required materials are ordered in a timely fashion to permit delivery in advance of the planned build commencement.
  • Planning and tracking the overall progress of each project to completion ensuring that the planning of the works minimises the Contract's Work in Progress (WIP)
  • Liaise with appointed commercial staff daily for cost control purposes / profit and loss reviews.
  • Ensure that projects are operated in line with the framework rates or tender prices submitted and tender estimates.
  • Responsible for ensuring change management processes to capture change are enforced on all projects in line with commercial change procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that project team(s), and with liaison with the commercial team the supporting labour & plant hire, & traffic management are in place to match the planned works and ensuring the available resources are fully utilised and tasks are allocated on a priority basis.
  • Overtime authorisation for all subordinate staff through direct reports.
  • Set Targets and KPI levels for all direct reports
  • Responsible to document the daily performance of each planned job reporting on the performance. Where the required daily outputs are not delivered investigate and report to senior management on findings and mitigation taken to avoid repeat.
  • Minimise travel time for site personnel as much as possible.
  • NIE Client account management with the various client Project Teams in relation to elements of planning.

Responsible inputting into the development of the planning portion of the company business plan
Responsible for the delivery of the planning portion of the company business plan in line with our Mission, Vision, Values and Policies

    Qualifications and Skills

Essential

Qualifications
Recognised academic training such as a HND or Degree course or relevant industry experience greater than 10 years

Knowledge
Proficient use and knowledge of software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project

  • Evidence of several consistent successes within the utilities sector, street works knowledge
  • Ability to evidence recent relevant senior & people leadership experience
