Criminal Duty Solicitor required for busy North London based Solicitors.

Although you will be based in North London you will be covering the Hertfordshire Courts and Police Stations, the East Herts Scheme.

The ideal Criminal Duty Solicitor will be a member of the Law Society's Criminal Litigation Accreditation Scheme (CLAS) accredited and have at least 3 years PQE in a similar role.

However, the firm will consider a CILEX Legal Executive or NQ Solicitor who is Police Station Accredited and currently working towards their Advocacy Accreditation.

The firm is a fantastic firm to work for, some staff have worked there for over 30 years as they really look after their staff and new positions do not become available at this firm often, unless they are growing a department as they have an extremely low turnoverof staff.

Must drive with own vehicle

As Criminal Duty Solicitor:

  • Have 3 years PQE working as a Criminal Duty Solicitor OR Legal Executive/NQ Solicitor who is Police Station Accredited
  • You will be dealing with a caseload of criminal law matters
  • You must be able to work with mínimal supervision
  • You will represent clients at Court and at the Police Station
  • You will be travelling to a variety of locations in Hertfordshire to attend both Court and Police Stations at short notice
  • You will be willing to work flexibly and outside of normal office hours
  • You will have a driving licence and access to a car
The core hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, however you will need to share the responsibility with the other 2 Duty Solicitors; being on call 24/7
Salary is around £42,000 p.a. Depending on experience level and qualifications The salary is negotiable
Based in North London but covering Hertfordshire
