Description
A fast-growth laboratory testing company is looking for a new Senior Analytical Chemist to join their team. You will be responsible for assisting the department in the development of analytical methods appropriate for the company devices.

You will also betraining the other team members on testing, analytical instrumentation, protocol, and report writing, as well as assisting in the development of SOPs.

You will require a chemistry degree, or similar, along with previous commercial laboratory experience.

The Role

  • Development of appropriate methods concerning sample preparation, data processing and interpretation of analytical systems (e.g., HS-GCMS, GC-MSD, HPLC).
  • Method Validation of the analytical methods developed inhouse, lead, and supervise trainees
  • Conduct training on established tests for Analytical Technicians in the team
  • Supervise the testing and make sure it is performed in line with established standards
  • Function as a team member throughout projects while maintaining quality and accuracy of work
  • Assist in data acquisition, protocol development, and report writing
  • Maintain accessible chemical inventory
  • Time management and effective project planning
  • Ability to supervise and lead the other team members
  • Design new studies and validate new medical devices and pharma products.
  • Ability to work and organise projects under pressure
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team. Monitor and train other members
  • Report any issues to the department manager
  • Maintenance and cleanliness of lab and chemical storage
  • Effective communication with the Manager about any issues in the chemistry lab
  • Good collaboration with the Manager about the needs of the company's chemistry department
  • Assist in phone conferences with clients in relation to their projects
  • Help develop a culture of safe working practices and manage health and safety risks within the company
Experience Required

  • Ability to play and manage active and possible projects simultaneously
  • Practically and theoretically trained in the fundamentals of GC, GC/MS, & HPLC operation and quantitation
  • Understanding of MSD ChemStation software
  • Understanding the importance of health and safety in chemical storage and handling
  • Good statistical skills
  • Trained to ISO 1702
  • Degree in Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry
