Due to our continuing success and growth in the North West, Ridge and Partners are now looking for a

Health and Safety Compliance Consultant from a Housing, Commercial or Management Consultancy background to join this successful and talented Property Consultancy team.

Role and Responsibilities:


As a member of the Property Consultancy team you will work on a range of engagements, focusing predominantly on supporting clients in reviewing their compliance activity, achieving compliance and their best practice objectives.


The role requires an individual who is accountable, comfortable in working proactively with our Clients, building relationships and has the ambition to develop a specialist compliance team with support from discipline Partners.


We anticipate a workload including the following:

  • Detailed diagnostic audits cover all core H&S compliance areas
  • High level and repeat health checks
  • Supporting development of action plans, recovery plans and implementation requirements specific to a client organisation
  • Supporting development of new organisational structure, operating models, policies procedures and risk assessments
  • Supporting client recruitment and training requirements
  • Broader scope to include nonhousing related assets and requirement
  • Collaborative working with our data specialists to understand system deficiencies and requirements
  • Support development of Building Safety Cases
  • Oversight of existing specialist external consultants and compliance related activity within the discipline


You will also have an active involvement in supporting future growth within the team, including development of proposals and wider business development activities.


Experience and Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of current asset management, compliance and statutory best practice and regulatory requirements will be essential in advising clients and must be up to date
  • Proven track record in the six core areas (Asbestos, fuel and gas, electric, water/legionella, lifting equipment and fire) of residential compliance, ideally with experience from a consultancy and/or housing background
  • Appropriate university and professional qualifications such as RICS, CIOB would be highly desirable, although not essential
  • Housing sector related qualifications such as CIHCM would be desirable, although not essential
  • An understanding of the housing, central and local government sectors would be highly desirable
  • Ability to balance hard compliance requirements and specific client operational requirements to produce accurate and robust advice.
  • Strong project management skills, and ability to deliver engagements within tight timescales, to appropriate quality and financial objectives
  • Ambition to become selfreliant in terms of workload and new opportunities
  • You will be of an analytical mind and high level of intellect combining excellent written and oral skills to produce considered and robust reports and reasoned advice.


It is anticipated the role will require initial and on-going training in areas where knowledge may be limited and you will be fully supported by Ridge in gaining this expertise.
