The role of Service Support and Operations Officer is a front-facing administrative role within the University of Sheffield's Student Mental Health, Counselling & Therapies Service.


This post is designed primarily to support our clinical professional staff and will require an element of resilience and diligence to deliver an effective and efficient support service.


The role includes:


  • Delivery and oversight of a highly responsive and customerfocused admin and reception service
  • Take ownership of a range of core administrative functions performed on a daily basis to support the service and the needs of new and existing clients.
  • Support members of the administrative team with workload priorities, including the allocation and delegation of tasks, to ensure that work is completed in line with departmental needs.
  • Supervision of staff, including contributing to the monitoring and reviewing of individual and team progress and performance.
  • Act as a key point of contact for the service, including deputising for the Office Team Leader where required.
