The Opportunity:


We are looking for a Production Platen Operator to work 2pm to 10pm or 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.


You will report to our Production Platen Team Leader within our Temp Division Operations Team, working closely with all manufacturing departments, providing an efficient range of quality parts, on time and with limited waste.


You will be expected to provide efficient production activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, compliant and within budget, enhancing business effectiveness, and ensuring complete customer satisfaction.


You will support the Temporary Production Department Team to deliver business objectives, raising any issues that will impact company performance with solution led suggestions.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure all manufacturing processes are carried out efficiently and with strict adherence to quality and health and safety standards and practices.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and implement corrective measures where necessary to maintain product quality, highlighting any rework required to the Production Platen Team Leader.
  • Set/control and adjust machine settings to ensure quality consistency.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards effectively to control and/or eliminate workplace hazards and improve productivity.
  • Ensure daily checks of the emergency stops including guards and lasers are fully operational before use of the platens commences and record findings, reporting any safety concerns to the Production Platen Team Leader/Production Manager.
  • Ensure oil and essential machine maintenance is completed weekly and record findings, reporting any concerns to the Production Platen Team Leader/Production Manager.
  • Comply and positively contribute to the Quality Management System (ISO 9001) including nonconformance reviews/improvements.
  • Communicate on and help to resolve any problems/obstacles to production management.
  • Record labour hours and maintain accurate production reports, including accurate records of material usage/waste, and production quantities.
  • Provide knowledge/experience, and motivation/support and advice to the wider Production Team.
  • Monitor output and highlight any discrepancies to the Production Platen Team Leader.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the business by giving support and cooperation to all other departments involved in the design/development/manufacturing/sales and supply process.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a machine operator.
  • Willingness to learn and improve.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • Able to work well under pressure, meeting demanding deadlines, with a calm, positive and organised approach to challenging situations.
  • Flexibility to meet demands of the role in both timing and approach.
  • Respectful kind and fair, with empathy for the challenges of your colleagues.
  • Display great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within an environment where health and safety adherence is paramount.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
