PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIESClinical1.

Provide assessment and low intensity interventions e.g., evidence based PIMH practice andfacilitate one to one therapeutic work, guided self-help, psycho-educational programmes andgroup work.2.

Provide a service that is comprehensive and accessible to dada/partners and infants who arestruggling with their bond, relationship, mental health and other difficulties and vulnerabilitieswhich impact or pose a risk to the relationship.3.

To provide a PIMH service that is equitable and non-discriminatory of Dads/Partners in terms ofage, gender, ethnicity and disability.4.

Support other multi-disciplinary professionals in making appropriate referrals and in supportingDads/Partners and their infants, in their own capacity/roles.5.

Make appropriate referrals to other service providers in the statutory and voluntary sectors andredirect Dads/Partners to other sources of appropriate support within the local community asrequired.6.

Develop knowledge of the locality and its services and facilities, particularly in relation tosupporting Dads/Partners and their infants.7. Develop resources for dads to access ongoing support during an infants 0-2years.22/11/20238.

Provide a service that is flexible, offering visits either at home, Family Hub or safe place identifiedby DAD. Practitioner to follow lone worker policy as per MCFT policies and procedures. workinghours.9.

Liaise as appropriate with primary, secondary care mental health services and social servicedepartments and community sector services when required and escalate to team manager whereappropriate.10.

Conduct risk assessments, prepare risk management plans and initiate appropriate action whereindicated.
Supervision and Training11. Undertake appropriate clinical supervision on a regular basis in accordance with MCFTprocedures.12. Working collaboratively with EiTC to develop a training programme specifically directed for DADswith ACEs.13. Attend locally organised and national training appropriate to the work role.
Professional14.

Take personal (unprompted) responsibility for achieving agreed clinical activity relating to thenumber of therapy contact hours per week.15.

To develop an area of interest, to the level whereby the post-holder could become a resource ofinformation for the whole service.16.

Adhere to the clinical policies and procedures of BABS Mersey Care.17. Maintain appropriate clinical records in keeping with service operational policy.18.

Participate in setting and review of objectives for the post on an annual basis.19. Participate in activities of continuing professional development (CPD) on an annual basis.20. Attend professional meetings as appropriate.21. Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times.22.


Develop interactive psychoeducation within a CBT framework to large groups of Service Usersunder the supervision of senior members of the team.23.

Exercise personal responsibility for the systematic clinical governance of your own professionalpractice.24.

Proactively take responsibility for attending supervision, case management and line managementregularly, participate in objective setting, performance reviews and respond to agreed objectives.25.

Be aware of and comply with the policies, procedures and standards of service.26.


Promote and contribute to the development and maintenance of a healthy therapeutic culturewithin the service amongst colleagues and Service Users.

Management27. Ensure that staff maintain appropriate clinical records in keeping with service operational policy.28. Ensure staff maintain outcome data as per service operational policy.29. Ensure that staff participate in setting and review of objectives for their post on an annual basis.22/11/202330.

Ensure that staff participate in activities of continuing professional development (CPD) on anannual basis.31. Participate in audits of clinical activity and evaluative research as required.32. Manage an aspect of the service at the level of direct service delivery.

This might include one ormore (depending on available time) of:

co-ordinating psycho-educational material, keeping acentral resource file of clinical resources for general use, acting as the key liaison with an identifiedgroup of professionals/ organisation, for local voluntary organisations, GP surgeries, employment,Work Directions or Connexions.

Supplementary InformationThe position requires flexibility in working hours, as the service will be delivered some weekday evenings;this will be to be agreed in consultation with the post-holder.
