Product Owner, Account Growth & Efficiency


LOCATION:

Manage the product governance lifecycle of existing products under sphere of control, introduction of new products or product amendments in line with the prevailing governance framework, including (but not limited too):
New product approval.
Product design and parameterisation.
Contracts/Terms and Conditions.
Customer pricing and profitability.
Internal/external product collateral and instructions.
Market and competitor analysis.
Commercialisation of new and existing products


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Head of Accounts to develop and maintain a strategy for products within their area of responsibility.
Drive enhancements to account onboarding processes to significantly improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Help unlock account growth potential via product and propositional development.
Manage product roadmap delivery.
Champion sustainability and digitalisation within the Account product range.
Monitor product costs and income, and maintain profitability model for products.
Support the head of in developing recommended customer prices.
Review customer complaints relating to the product, monitor trends, and implement remedial actions, where necessary.
Input into the product area's business plan for products within area of responsibility.
Register and maintain the products in the product database. Undertakes Product Reviews in line with prevailing instructions for Reviews for each product under their area of responsibility.

Document and maintain the product specific process(es) within area of responsibility, ensuring full compliance with Global Instructions (GIS) relating to Essential Processes.

Ensure Departmental Instructions covering the area of responsibility are maintained.

Using appropriate methods, understand customer sentiment towards existing products and act on any changes required, to ensure we are able to meet our customers' needs.

Document and maintain relevant marketing material.
Keep abreast of market trends, innovation and competitor products and associated pricing.
Respond to branch queries and update instructions for clarification where necessary.
Ensure customer journeys are as consistent and efficient as possible.
Ensure compliance with the Bank's Product Governance Policy.
The role will involve frequent travel around the UK and other home countries as circumstances may dictate.
Develop a roadmap for delivery of the product strategy.
Monitor legal, regulatory and internal changes and applicability to products, ensuring product compliance.

Engage with internal stakeholders to gauge appetite for changes to products and gain approval for the development of new and/or changes to existing products.

Using the banks prevailing project management methodologies and the relevant documentation, play an active role (demander/ business responsible) in the development of any new products or product features.

Constantly monitor the product for new or emerging risks.

Maintain an accurate register of risks, take appropriate action to report risks when identified and work with speed to address known risks (where possible).

Operates in line with the Bank's Risk Management framework (including sub-frameworks) and relevant risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate and timely escalation of any concerns to their line manager.


SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Substantial experience in Product / Change Management within UK Banking sector.
An advantage to have an understanding/knowledge of Account products including current and deposit accounts, overdrafts and corporate pooling.
A proactive and pragmatic working style.
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills in both written and spoken English.

Ability to interact proactively and confidently with various project teams, branches, Regional Support Teams, stakeholders, senior management, external advisors, Product Owners (local and global), and to work very closely with Finance, System Owners, Legaland Compliance teams.

An analytical mind-set with attention to detail, together with a reasonable working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and reasonable computer skills generally.

Role holder should ideally possess an established industry contact base, from which leverage can be gained in fulfilling the requirements of the role.
