Salary:
Up to £45,000 dependent on skills and experience


What you'll be doing:


  • Production and Maintenance of Data Modules (DMs) that provide both descriptive and procedural information within the System Handbooks/Technical Documentation.
  • Ensuring that quality control procedures and safety standards are promulgated and adhered to within the Technical Documentation material
  • Review and agreement of proposed changes and Subcontractor deliverables in relation to System Handbooks/Technical Documentation
  • Distribution/delivery of System Handbooks/Technical Documentation to Customers
  • Liaison with Subcontractors and Customers on System Handbooks/Technical Documentation Issues

Your skills and experiences:


Essential:


  • Experience within a Technical Author role with knowledge of S1000D Standards
  • Ability to write clear and concise system/equipment descriptions and maintenance procedures
  • Good knowledge of documentation generation and amendment techniques and processes

Desirable:


  • Exposure to Common Source Databases (CSDB) and S1000D Data Module production
  • Holds an aspiration to lead or manage a small team in the future

The Combat Systems Technical Publications team:

You will be joining a team of experienced Technical Authors working across multiple projects and delivering new technology to the Royal Navy.


You will have the opportunity to see a product that you helped design and develop make its way on to a Royal Navy Warship.
