About the role


The Fashion Retail Academy is currently in a new phase of growth, and we have an opportunity for a motivated and confident Senior Accounts Assistant to support our Finance team.

In this role you will have the opportunity to own the day-to-day accounts receivable and collections activities for the FRA.


The main focus of the role will be reviewing sales ledger, debtors, chasing outstanding and unpaid fees, and formulating a proactive process to ensure potential debtors' issues are dealt with as early on as possible.

In this role you will ensure the team are meeting KPI's and that you are administering an efficient and effective collections function for the FRA, predominantly in relation to student fees.

You will have the opportunity to explore and recommend change to improve credit control processes.


About you

  • This role in our Finance team will allow you to demonstrate your strong negotiation and influencing skills, so the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and the ability to develop and maintain sound working relations with all key stakeholders is essential for the role.
  • You will have experience of working in an accounting environment and in working on a computerised accounting system.
  • You must have good knowledge of basic accounting including double entry bookkeeping, maintaining all ledgers and of cashbook maintenance and accounts receivable.
  • You will have excellent IT knowledge, as well as experience of, or the ability to promptly learn, Sage, and our student records system.
  • To be effective in this role you will be organised, with excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail.
  • You will have the ability to process data in an efficient and timely manner, whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Your aim will be to act preventatively and use your proactive approach to create an efficient and effective administration process for Finance at the FRA

Salary:

£28K - £33K per annum, depending on qualifications and experience
