_We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Supervisor to assist in leading our accounting department._- This role is crucial for supporting the department manager in overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, and improving our financial processes and systems._
Key tasks
- Assist the Department Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, governmental regulations, and company policies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of department goals, policies, procedures, and systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the department.
- Manage and supervise accounting staff, including training, mentoring, and evaluating performance to build a highperforming team.
- Coordinate and assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Support the preparation and review of management accounts, financial statements, group reporting packages and other reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with the Department Manager on financial audits, tax workings, and budgeting processes.
- Implement and monitor internal controls.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors.
Person Specification & Qualification:
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above in accounting or businessrelated discipline, ACCA/ACA finalist/qualified.
- 7 years or more related experience in accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements. Experience in accounting practice/shipping industry is preferred.
- Detailoriented with a strategic mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
- Proficient in accounting software, MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to interact effectively at all levels within the company.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop team members.

Salary:
£40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
