    The Legal Counsel role requires you to be reactive in a dynamic environment, supporting the business with time-sensitive situations. You must be responsive, proactive, and able to effectively manage deadlines and stakeholders.

    You'll work on challenging but satisfying matters, feeling part of a commercial dynamic team driving the business forward.

    Adapting to different people, situations, and areas of advice is essential, along with having fun.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Take active ownership in managing and supporting the Legal team in completing and advising on all legal matters across the group.
    2. Advising on commercial contracts, data protection, financial services, advertising, corporate, consumer law, employment, intellectual property, property, and litigation.
    3. Negotiating, drafting, and advising on commercial agreements and internal legal documents, including supplier contracts, standard terms and conditions, website terms and conditions, and influencer agreements.
    4. Determining and implementing the legal team strategy and working with the business to drive individual brand strategies.
    5. Ensuring the team improves and updates our precedent templates and processes.
    6. Preparing and delivering business-wide training across various topics.
    7. Staying up to date with new legislation and market developments to ensure the business is briefed and ready for changes.
    8. Supporting the corporate governance function.

    Team and Management:

    1. Working closely with the legal team, including the corporate governance function.
    2. Helping to grow the credibility of the Legal team across the group, which is already well established and respected.
    3. Identifying the need for external legal advice and exercising cost management and control when using external advisors.
    4. Proactively identifying training needs across the legal team and supporting their development and growth.
    5. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external legal advisors.
    6. Project managing key projects to ensure they are being driven forward.

    What We're Looking For:

    1. A qualified and practicing solicitor.
    2. A positive 'can do' attitude and willingness to get stuck in, with a solutions-focused approach rather than blocking progress.
    3. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently but collaboratively with the business.
    4. We prioritize output over PQE, although 5+ years PQE is desired but not essential.
    5. In-house experience at an e-commerce and/or retail business with commercial contract experience and strong negotiation skills is desired.
    6. Corporate governance experience is valuable but not essential.
