Within our Capital Design and Delivery department, we are looking for a Site Supervisor to join our HS2 Diversions Programme of works.

***As a Site Supervisor you will assist the project managers and construction manager to deliver projects in accordance with NEC4 conditions of contract whilst managing interfaces with local, third parties, customers and contractors and also providing first line quality assurance.


You'll provide an effective point of contact for the contractors and site management team by providing support during interventions and/or critical interfaces.


Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:

  • Delivering the standards/initiatives/improvements set by the business
  • Assist the project team in identifying and mitigating risks to the project success
  • Uphold Severn Trent standards and procedures to ensure a zero accidents
  • Preconstruction duties including Enabling and Investigation works and checks
  • Undertake assurance testing of installed work (witness and sign off QA tests)
  • Ensure on site work is carried out to required standards and delivered right first time
  • Record keeping, maintaining a site diary, photographic records and site audits
  • Undertake duties as delegated in NEC4 and CDM
  • Site management of stakeholders
  • Respond to and address incidents/accidents with the Project Manager
  • Drive the projects to construction completion
  • Attend and contribute to site meetings
  • Liaise with statutory bodies such and the general public
  • Assist in the resolution of customer queries and complaints
  • Carry our inspections and audits


Civil engineering and construction background would be advantageous and experience of managing site safety with relevant accreditations such as IOSH/SMSTS.


In this role you'll have the ability to manage own time and workload across several concurrent projects with consideration of the delivery risks, operational risks, priorities, and programmes of individual projects.


You'll have effective Communication:
skilful in utilising the best strategies to communicate both positive and challenging messages.

You'll be forward looking and proactive; looking ahead to anticipate problems and develop plans to overcome potential obstacles.


You'll hold a full UK Driving Licence.

Ideally with experience in the utilities and/ or infrastructure sectors, you will be a strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills.

You will have a strong drive to deliver in the face of a rapidly evolving environment, constantly seeking out change to make improvements for the whole supply chain.

You will have a good commercial awareness, looking ahead to anticipate problems and develop plans to overcome potential obstacles.
