We are recruiting for a Technical Officer to join our Ship Management client, based in Central London.

The Technical Officer will assist in providing operation management services to ships under charge to ensure they run in a safe manner and that the running costs for all the vessels are within the budget allocated by the ship owners.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT- Background in Maritime / Shipping or the Offshore industry. Apprenticeship in Shipping At least 2-3 years proven experience working in the same field. Good MS office skills. Experience working purchasing/working with suppliers (preferred) Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills.
JOB DESCRIPTION- Responsible for the ships purchase requests including obtaining quote, placing purchase orders and maintaining all inventory files. Following up with each requisition until delivery. Monitor and arrange the class/statutory surveys. Arrange routine repairs and requisition for service engineer, keeping record of all accrued repair costs. Maintain central cost data for major stores, equipment, machinery, repair and dry-dock cost. Deal with correspondence to and from vessels and other concerned parties. Maintain check list of periodic reporting due from vessel. Participate in tasks related to technical operating cost. Maintain central cost data and up to date records for files, reference and retrieval. Track Lube oil sample analysis. Always promote and comply with the Company's "Safety and Environmental Policy" and any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Management of the Company.
