Teaching Assistant (PE Support)

Required for September 2023 or as soon as possible

Grade 4, SCP 12-17, £24,496 - £26,845 (Pay award pending)

(Actual salary £18,596 - £21,026 dependent on continuous service and experience)

32.5 hours per week, Term Time Only plus 5 days

We are looking to appoint an energetic, inspiring and enthusiastic person to work with our students in PE lessons, aged 11-18, including those with additional needs.

You would be supporting/coaching our young people in their PE lessons and also assist the department in the running of its extra-curricular provision and sports clubs.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who has a passion for sport, and also enjoys supporting children develop so that they can fulfil their full potential.

Following our recent Ofsted inspection, we have once again been awarded a grading of Outstanding and this includes our SEND provision.

We are looking for someone who:

has an interest in sport and physical activity and will transmit their enthusiasm for this to our young people,

- will act as an excellent role model and will enthuse our young people to be active participants in PE lessons,
- is a confident communicator with adults and children,
- is committed to working with and supporting our PE department.

Whilst it would be an advantage, applicants do not necessarily need to have a background in sports coaching or education, but must have a keen interest in sports and be passionate and enthusiastic about supporting our young people participate in a wide range of activities from across our curriculum.

This role would also suit someone who may be looking for a future career as a PE teacher, particularly since the Trust has its own teacher training school.
