About the role
Skills Development Team is a supported living service specifically for adults in Telford with mental health needs.

We also offer outreach support for people living in the wider community who need help to maintain good mental health and hospital avoidance.

We support in various ways to help develop skills that people need to maintain their home and build on healthy lifestyles.

In your new role as Support Worker, you will:

Build relationships with Residents, which are open and two way.
Support Residents to undertake their daily routines.
Establish methods of communication with residents, reducing barriers when necessary
Accurately report and/or record work activities
Support with activities of daily living & personal care
Assist residents with mealtimes where necessary.

Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require a DBS check to be completed. Further details will be sent following offer.

About you

As Support Worker, you will ideally have:

Experience working within a Care environment (Advantageous but not essential as full induction training will be given)
A warm hearted, friendly manner, patience, kindness and good communication, a willingness to help others, requiring patience.
An open and honest character, respectful and celebrate diversity, connect with colleagues and residents to celebrate uniqueness.
The ability to be a natural care giver and someone who can communicate in an open and honest manner with your colleagues, residents, and their visitors.
