Our client is seeking Support Workers to join their established team.


Support and professional development will be provided, and this is an ideal job for someone wishing to further develop their skills.

**The Client
The client is a 10-year-old male who has learning and physical disabilities, including Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy. He is friendly and enjoys spending time with others, as well as listening to music. He requires one-to-one care in meeting his needs.

**The Role

The right Support Worker for the role will be experienced in working with a young person who has additional needs.

The Support Worker must be attentive and patient in order to pick up signs indicating the client's needs. The role requires a commitment to providing a high level of care in a manner that is always professional.


Day to day tasks will include providing the client with support in meeting his personal care needs, getting him ready for school or other community activities, administering his medication and helping him to meet his nutritional needs.

Support workers willalso assist the client with his therapy exercises and all other activities of daily living.

Ongoing guidance will be provided by the Case Manager, therapists and other professionals involved.


You will possess good communication skills (both verbal and written), liveliness, empathy, flexibility, enthusiasm, and the ability to use your own initiative.

**Essential

  • You must have the skills and experience gained from working with young people and those with physical and learning disabilities.
  • You must have a warm and friendly disposition with a good sense of humour.
  • You must be physically active and capable of assisting the client with managing his needs, engaging in therapy, and accessing social activities.
  • You must possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • You must be fluent in English and be capable of reading and following written guidance provided by professionals. This is especially important due to the need to administer medication and assist the client with other needs.
  • You must be comfortable working as part of a team aimed at encouraging the young person's growth and development.
  • You must have an understanding of the factors to consider when working in the family home.
  • Although regular shifts will be agreed, the employer holds the right to change shifts at any time to suit the client's needs, therefore flexibility is vital.
  • The ability to work during the school holidays when our client has more free time is essential.
  • You must have excellent time keeping.
  • A satisfactory Enhanced DBS check is essential for the role.
  • You must hold a clean driving licence.

Please note that our client does attend regular respite twice per month which may coincide with your shifts, this time is not paid for.
