Kingswood Secondary Academy

The Academy Community
The Kingswood Secondary Academy caters for boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 19.

The Academy started life as a grammar school in 1965 with 150 students, and then grew into a flourishing comprehensive school for over 1200 students.

The Academy is sited in a brand new building completed in June 2010.

The new building occupies a site in between two former school sites - the former Kingswood site and Our Lady & Pope John School.

Kingswood is a neighbourhood Academy which serves its local community. We do not select students on grounds of ability, or on any other grounds. We cater for students of all abilities - from the most able to those who require additional support.

We aim to provide a safe and secure environment where all students can prosper and make the most of their talents and abilities - whether they are in the classroom, on stage, or on the sports field.

We expect the best in all that we do. We also aim to help our students become responsible members of the wider community - the citizens of tomorrow.

Similarly, we have high expectations of ourselves and strive to provide high quality support and guidance alongside stimulating and engaging learning experiences.

Our Facilities
In September 2010, we moved into our state-of-the-art new buildings.

We are now embarking on one of the most exciting periods in our history and this brings with it a real opportunity for the students at Kingswood to take advantage of brand new facilities such as ICT suites, Technology rooms and Science laboratories, fantastic facilities for the arts, and sports facilities of the highest quality.

The buildings incorporate many exciting features - innovatively d
