Regional Safety Advisor


We're looking for a Regional Safety Advisor to join Marston's to provide expert support to operations on all safety related matters.


Reporting into the Director of Safety, this role will be providing accurate, clear & relevant expert advice & support to ensure that Marston's conducts its operations in a safe & effective manner, within the framework of company policies, legislative requirements & industry best practice.

Actively promoting a positive safety management culture within Marston's and the ownership of safety by teams in all areas of the business operation.


This is a field based permanent position covering the South of England and/or Wales and you'll be based in your respected region of the South/South Wales, working alongside our Midlands and Northern based RSA's.


You must have a full UK driving licence and independent transport as we include a generous car allowance of £7,500 as part of your package.


Have you got what it takes?

  • Support to Area Operations Managers (AOMs), General Managers (GMs) & Pub Operators on an advisory basis on safety & related matters including food safety, health & safety, licensing & incident/crisis management.
  • Support to AOMs, GMs & Pub Operators in liaison with enforcement authorities (principally Environmental Health Officers).
  • Support & coach any pub which receives an EHO Food Hygiene Rating of less than 5. The RSA will liaise with EHO, AOM, GM or Operator and other support teams until a satisfactory rerating inspection has been achieved.
  • Visit pubs that fail the safety audit to support & coach the pub team with the corrective action plan & determine if the pub presents an ongoing risk to the business.
  • Carrying out accident/incident investigations for high risk RIDDOR reportable incidents, liaising with enforcement officers & investigating insurance claims as directed by the Director of Safety.
  • Carrying out investigations where multiple food poisoning allegations are received, liaising with enforcement officers as directed by the Head of Technical Services
  • Food & Drink.
  • Ensuring that any unsafe act, condition, or situation which could compromise the business is immediately escalated to the Director of Safety.

  • Ability to influence at all levels both informally and within more formal environments
  • Ability to project a professional positive presence and an appropriate level of credibility
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Hold a full driving license
  • Eager to undertake personal development i.e., knowledge of health & safety & food safety
  • Commercial in outlook and understands the current business challenges within the industry
  • Enthusiastic with a solution focused attitude.
