Working for Mears Housing Management this position for a Property Standard Coordinator will be part of the repairs and property services team based in Basingstoke, Hampshire.


We are hiring due to the new project which started Q2 2023, to review all stock on the scheme and whether it meets the contract standards.

Negotiations will be required with Landlords and Letting Agents for works to be done to bring property up to standard, liaising with internal teams (renewals, search, in tenancy, field ops) to achieve the best possible outcome alongside the day to day of arranging cleans and processing invoices.


About the Role


We are looking to recruit a Property Standard Coordinator for our In Tenancy and Property Standard team reporting to the Team Leader.

You will be a point of contact for customers, landlords and agents with any property related queries raised during the life of a tenancy and will be responsible for taking inbound calls from customers reporting property repairs or other issues at the property.

The Property Standards Team are responsible for ensuring the properties in our portfolio are compliant and meet our contractual obligations for our scheme as well as being suitable for habitation


The job entails a variety of duties including reviewing reports, working to deadlines, co-ordinating relevant works and contractors to ensure properties are ready for occupation, liaising with Landlords, Letting Agents and occupants where necessary.

This is a busy role that requires a high level of organisation, resilience and co-ordination.

Customer service is a key skill as you will be liaising with a wide variety of 3rd party contacts, key skills in negotiation and excellent levels of time management and flexibility.


Role Criteria:


  • In and outbound calls to contractors
  • Ensuring works are completed in the time frame to limit impact on other departments in the business
  • Reporting issues to relevant teams/parties in a timely manner and monitor progress whilst conducting outbound communications to ensure works are completed in time
  • Ensuring targets are met in line with SLA's
  • Completing accurate IT records on system
  • Working collaboratively with team members, contractors, and other 3rd parties to deliver an overall successful service and maintain high levels of satisfaction with performance delivery in accordance with agreed standard operating procedures
  • Contributing to the team with ideas, suggestions or recommendations which assist in reviewing working practices and service standards, leading to continuing improvement in team performance.
  • Taking personal responsibility for developing own skills, knowledge and understanding of services, processes, technology and community issues.
  • To observe health and safety legislation, The Data Protection Act and Mears Ltd policies on Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and Confidentiality in the execution of duties.
  • Carry out any other job function as required in delivering service to the customers.
