UKSE is seeking a machinist in the Hyde area.

Must have previous experience using conventional lathes, drills, mills etc and confident using measuring equipment and reading engineering drawings.

Working Hours - Mon-Thur Friday


Job Purpose:

To support the service in-house capabilities for both pump & valve refurbishments. The role will require parts to be machined from both draw and sample in addition to reclaiming of parts. Operation of various manual machines including lathe and vertical boring machines.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Bias on turning majority of machining on manual centre lathe producing shafts, sleeves, spacers, etc.
  • Machining cast parts to drawing such as impellers, bearing housings, casings
  • General milling including keyways and slots
  • Vertical borer machining valve bodies, pump bowls, pump casings etc.
  • Remove and replace case wear rings and bushes
  • Present a professional image, support and promote brand values at all times.
  • Carry out all work practices in line with Company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Meet high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.
  • Support site activities.
  • Liaise with workshop personnel at all levels.
