About IT Services


IT Services at the University of Manchester is a vibrant and fast-moving department, we focus on delivering excellent customer service and quality services for our staff, students and researchers.


The Role
IT Services is looking for an experienced Supplier Management Officer.

Working with colleagues in ITS services and stakeholders across the institution, you will be responsible for supporting the IT Supplier Managers in managing IT Services relationships with its suppliers.

This includes assisting and supporting with the day-to-day activities regarding supplier negotiation and performance monitoring to ensure that IT Services receive high-quality goods and services at competitive prices.

You will also be responsible for maintaining supplier information and analysing relevant supplier data.


The Person

  • Experience of managing contracts and the methods and techniques to ensure suppliers adhere to agreed contract requirements.
  • Knowledge of purchasing regulations and laws, particularly within the public sector
  • The ability to establish relationships, identify and manage key stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines.
  • A good understanding of procurement practices including sourcing strategies.
  • Experience of using procurement systems, maintaining data and adhering to related purchasing processes e.g., statements of work, purchase orders etc.
