    Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Tavistock First Step Plus Service in a permanent post for 0.7 WTE sessions.

The service supports children and young people in Haringey's care aged 0-17 years who are experiencing or at risk of placement instability and lack access to local mental health services.

First Step Plus addresses this by providing direct specialist support within a 20-mile radius of Haringey, including direct assessments, evidence-based interventions and treatment.

The post holder will conduct high-quality, comprehensive psychological assessments and deliver evidence-based treatments and interventions. The role encompasses providing consultation and network support. The position requires maintaining schedule flexibility to accommodate urgent or high-risk cases and facilitate network consultations when concerns arise.

The role is primarily based in our clinic at Bounds Green Health Centre but incorporates flexibility for community-based work.

The post holder will conduct home visits and school-based assessments when clinically indicated and attend professional meetings in social work offices in Wood Green as required.

If the above sounds like you, please apply and / or contact us for any questions you might have about the post.

We are looking forward to hearing from you

You will provide expert consultation and specialist psychological advice to staff and agencies in and outside the Trust.

You will communicate complex information in a highly skilled and sensitive manner, at times dealing with service users and networks under significant stress.

You will maintain a high standard of clinical records, producing and maintaining good communications with other professionals involved, including frequent liaison with local services and participating in outreach meetings.

You will contribute to the quality, safety and continuous improvement of services we provide to service users and their families.

The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.

We are particularly keen to attract candidates from underrepresented backgrounds to better meet the needs of the service users and students that we serve.

The Trust aims to ensure that all job applicants, employees or clients are treated fairly and valued equally regardless of sex, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, domestic circumstances, age, race, colour, disablement, ethnic or national origin, social background or employment status, sexual orientation, religion, beliefs, HIV status, gender identity, political affiliation or trade union membership.

Selection for training and development and promotion will be on the basis of the individual's ability to meet the requirements for the job.

You are responsible for ensuring that the Trust's policies, procedures and obligation in respect of promoting equality and diversity are adhered to in relation to both staff and services.
