Job descriptionJob description***As a Quality Controller you will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing manufacturing & assembly processes and products to ensure they meet the required standard. You will be required to inspect, test, measure materials and products to ensure they are in line with specification and standard operating procedures. Provide general Quality support and advice specific to the business and industry ensuring the highest quality of product is achieved by both voestalpine Turnout Technology UK Ltd. & voestalpine Railway Systems. You will drive standards by continuously advising all personnel on quality related issues. Raise quality issues and undertaking investigations of Non-Conformances and other findings, supporting QA manager to ensure all findings are investigated and closed out in a timely manner as well as providing performance reporting as required. Conduct goods inwards Inspections, Calibration, Layout inspections and ad hoc inspections. Assist with the internal audit program covering Quality processes. Providing support to the Operational functions with renewals and maintenance tasks.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Ensuring the business is compliant and supporting with monitoring, auditing, and reviewing all internal processes.
- Support QA Manager with external audits from UKAS accredited bodies, customers, and suppliers on behalf of the company.
- Support with internal audits of IMS processes and measuring performance.
- Provide interdepartmental quality support.
- Communicate findings to assist in the development of localised improvement plans.
- Advise / support wider HSEEQ team.
- Act as a key point of contact for all qualityrelated matters, internally and externally.
- Drive improvements and standardisation of processes.
- Monitor information flow between design, materials, and assembly teams.
- Support with the creation and management for goods inwards and goods outwards inspections.
- Log, investigate and track any findings from general work activities, inspections, audits.
- Goods inwards inspections responsibility.
- Competency matrix support in the review, assessment and monitoring for all departments.
- Liaise with design department with any work instruction / sketch queries.
- Support in the training & development of Quality awareness to managers, colleagues and employees with training techniques, coaching sessions, toolbox talks and inductions.
- Support with Management of Investigation procedures and Reporting findings for quality incidents to establish root causes, corrective actions, preventative measures.
- Reviewing and continually improving the internal processes
- Supporting Managers and Employees to maintain focus on delivering a safe working environment providing support and advice as required.
- Representing and promoting the organisation's quality performance to third parties e
g:
customers, suppliers and vaRS group
- Supporting the organisational processes and cultures so that Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental issues are not a prohibiting factor in the pursuit of business opportunities.
- Drive improvements across all products and services
- Create / Complete weekly/monthly management reports for submission to the senior management team.
QualificationsQualifications***- Previous experience as a Quality Controller within a manufacturing background,
- Experience of certified bodies standards ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 & 22163,
- Excellent computer and software (MS Suite) as well as Integrated Management System software (i.e. Q-Pulse, SAP, SharePoint, Etc.),
- Excellent data entry accuracy with strong planning, organisational and administration skills,
- Knowledge of Railway related products would be advantageous.
