Description

• The ability to prepare, cook and serve healthy and nutritious meals and snacks appropriate for young children and serve meals appropriate for special diets.

• Ensuring all relevant records are kept in line with Health & Safety and Food Hygiene to satisfy the Environmental Health Department.
• Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen is of the highest standard in accordance with Environmental Health requirements and legislation.
• Ensuring food is ready at the specified times and correctly served.
• Ensure systems of stock rotation are implemented. Ordering stock in line with requirements and maintaining stock levels. Ensure all stock is clearly labelled to include expiry dates.
• Ensure appropriate work wear is worn and guidelines with regard to food handling on a personal level are adhered to.
• Being aware of COSHH and follow relevant guidelines.
• Being able to work under your own initiative, be able to work well with the management team and liaise with the Nursery Nurses when needed.
