We are looking for a passionate assistant to join our

Rose Cottage Day Nursery and Preschool, situated in Hayward Heath. The local Train Station is a 2mile drive from the nursery and we have free carparking facilities for staff too


The Nursery have their very own furry friends that consist of Goats (Lola and Coco), Chickens, ducks (Quaky and Quickie) Guinea pigs (toffee and Popcorn) and gerbil's (Bobby and Marley) this is a great way for children to learn about nurturing and their induvial needs to take care of the animals.

As well as providing high quality childcare, we also have some wonderful animals onsite at our Rose Cottage Day Nursery which include 2 pygmy goats, 2 khaki Campbell ducks, 4 chickens and 2 guinea pigs


What you will be doing?

  • The job will consist of feeding the animals between 7:30am9:30am Saturday and Sunday, and then feeding them between 6pm7:30pm Saturday and Sunday evenings.
  • Whilst at the setting you will be required to ensure food and water levels are maintained along with checking that all animal areas are in working order.
  • The role wold require you to clean all animal areas at some point over the weekend (this was previously done on Saturday mornings at opening but it's flexible to whenever best suits you over the weekend.)
  • A key aspect will be to ensure the animals are cared for at a high level and report any concerns in relation to their health or environment to the Nursery Manager.
  • Some Bank Holiday work may be required.

What we're looking for

  • Experience of caring for animals is desirable.
  • The ability to communicate to management about how the animals are, and request feeds when they running low to ensure supplies do not run out.

Due to the requirement to lone work and have direct contact with animals, we require applicants to be over the age of 18 years.
