An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Continuity Coordinator to join Boeing Defence UK in
Bristol, UK with some possibility of flexible work arrangements.


Introduction:


This role will be responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) across BDUK.


Role Activities

  • Ensure the Business Continuity Policy remains aligned with business strategic objectives.
  • Undertake and maintain Business Impact Analysis.
  • Assist business locations with Emergency Preparedness Plans and Business Continuity plans.
  • Coordinate the review, maintenance and exercising of Business Continuity plans.
  • Promote awareness of Business Continuity policy, processes, plans and arrangements.
  • Engagement with BDUK Senior Leadership Team and stakeholders.
  • Direct and coordinate Business Continuity Steering Committee meetings.
  • Support the BDUK emergency automated notification system.
  • Drive ISO 22301 Certification

Preferred Qualifications/Education

  • Ideally qualified to degree level (or equivalent) OR with relevant experience, particularly within a Defence organisation
  • Member of the BCI (CBCI/AMBCI) or Crisis Management qualification.

Knowledge/Competences

Essential:


  • Knowledge and understanding of Business Continuity fundamentals
  • A level of knowledge and understanding of Business Impact Assessments
  • Ability to analyse the business continuity aspects of business risks
  • Pragmatic approach to the recommendation of business process improvements
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and manage own workload with limited daytoday supervision, but know when to seek assistance/escalate.

Preferred:


  • Experience of working within a multinational matrix management environment/ structure and a largescale, complex international organization, but also within small teams, would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience of participating in developing solutions in response to customer requirements.
  • Detailed understanding of data protection controls and practices.

General:


  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to adapt depending on audience; ability to explain technical issues in simple language to nontechnical consumers is essential.
  • Ability to confidently communicate in a challenging environment
  • Ability to contribute to cost, schedule adherence, and technical performance tradeoffs.
  • Clear task focus with ability to separate out and communicate key elements from extraneous detail.

This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance for which the Government requires UK Citizenship.
