About us
We provide open access, inclusive youth services co-run with young people: a provision that helps young people from all backgrounds to be better connected and better equipped with the skills and confidence to form and engage with supportive networks of friends and family, health and social services, businesses and organisations.
Purpose
The role is focussed on income generation through sales of our training products and fundraising through individual giving and corporate sponsorships.
We are a youth work charity, so all our work is driven by meaningful relationships with beneficiaries, customers and other stakeholders.
Working Hours
22.5 hours per week (3 x 7.5-hour days per week, there is some flex)
Salary
£25,000 per year pro rata (£15, % Pension

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sales and Fundraising Officer to join our team.

Principal Tasks & Responsibilities
Sales
- Generate income for the organisations' work from a mix of income sources.
- Support the development of new incomegenerating initiatives.
- Take and administer sales (bookings).
- Produce fundraising reports.
- Liaise with local business.
Fundraising
- Approach businesses, trusts and individuals to secure funding.
- Organise fundraising activities such as sponsored or promotional events, housetohouse and collections.
- Provide stewardship for donors, keeping them up to date and encouraging further giving.
Marketing and Engagement
- Create leads for the chargeable products/services and donations through marketing and promotional activities.
- Engage with new and existing clients and service users to promote our programmes and products.
- Coordinate visits, appointments, presentations, networking, and mailing lists working closely with a range of partners across the nonprofit, private, public and education sectors.
- Represent the organisation at external meetings and events.
Administration and data collection
- Ensure data on existing and new clients and partnerships are consistently captured on Mary's database.
- Identify and escalate issues and risks as necessary.
- Take part in the review, and evaluation of programmes, activities, and products.
Other
- Stay up to date with fundraising and sales trends and best practices and provide recommendations to improve our approach.
- Carry out all work with an antioppressive approach.
- Adhere to Mary's Data Protection, confidentiality, H&S and all other policies and procedures.

Person Specification
You Will:
- Have great communication and customer service skills as well as being a good negotiator.
- Bring a positive attitude and be able to work off your own initiative.
- Be comfortable in a targetdriven role, with excellent organisational and operational skills and the ability to deal effectively with competing priorities.
- Be familiar with and have knowledge of CRM systems and IT knowhow.
- Most importantly, you'll need to love networking, building relationships and be able to get on well with a wide range of people.
Requirements:
Qualification
- GCSEs in English and in Maths A*C/49 Grade (essential).
- Accredited Sales / Customer Service Training (desirable).
Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in fundraising and/or sales, preferably in a nonprofit or social enterprise environment (essential).
- Experience of developing relationships and matching products and/or activities to suit the needs of diverse audiences (essential).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, partners, and clients (essential)
- Experience of working to achieve targets (essential).
- Experience in using social media for promotion and engagement (desirable).

- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and persuade a wide range of stakeholders, including suppliers, supporters, and colleagues (essential).
