Payroll Advisor


We're on the lookout for a
Payroll Advisor to join our HR team, who will support with running an accurate and efficient end to end payroll for approximately 1,200 employees.


You will need excellent attention to detail to ensure we maintain our outstanding accuracy rates of over 99% each month.

Previous experience of working on a similar sized, in-house payroll is preferred and you'll need a sound knowledge of relevant legislation, PAYE, NI, statutory payments and manual payroll calculations.


What will I be doing?

  • Ensuring an accurate and efficient endtoend payroll delivery for approx. 1200 employees.
  • Collating and inputting payroll data in to our HRIS, Workday, including but not limited to; new starters, contractual changes, leavers, absences and benefits changes
  • Processing adhoc payments or deductions such as overtime payments, long service awards, private fuel deductions or loan repayments
  • Calculating salary adjustments for absences and creating payment schedules for those taking maternity, adoption or shared parental leave
  • Completing the monthly reconciliation; running the necessary reports, exploring anomalies and providing rationale for any differences in preparation for signoff
  • Acting as the first point of contact in relation to pay queries from employees, managers or external sources such as HMRC and delivering an effective and professional service
  • Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders and maintaining close working relationships with the HR Team to ensure a flow of information

What would we like to see in you?

  • Previous payroll experience is essential
  • Uptodate knowledge of current legislation (e.g. PAYE, NIC, statutory payment calculations)
  • Experience in using Workday Payroll is preferred but not essential as training will be provided
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to analyse data
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • CIPP or equivalent qualifications are desirable
