Wall Colmonoy Ltd are currently recruiting for a Trainee Furnace Operator.


This is a key role in the organisation to ensure that procedures and manufacturing processes are followed correctly in all aspects of powder production within the atomisation foundry.

It is the Furnace Operator's role to melt and pour alloys to detailed process procedures to ensure production of high-quality atomised powders while adhering to designated Health, Safety and Environmental practices.


In addition to the tasks detailed below, the Furnace Operator may be asked to perform additional tasks which are not noted in this document which the Shift Leader may deem fit.

The Furnace Operator reports to the Shift Leader and Atomising Supervisor.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Follow the work instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure that the process/processes are carried out correctly within the department.
  • Highlight to the Production Supervisor any maintenance requirements or process limitations within your work area.
  • QA Analysis of hardness and chemical composition of alloys.
  • Follow equipment clean down operations to ensure no cross contamination between alloys.
  • Adhere to designated health and safety melting practices and procedures for your work area and department including all safe systems of work. Adhere to WCL's health and safety policy.
  • Complete all process paperwork correctly with manufacturing data for Quality Control purposes and KPI data gathering.
  • Meet daily production plan melting targets to ensure manufacturing program is being met and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are on target.
  • Support departmental continuous improvement tasks and projects while highlighting improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure good standards of housekeeping and storage are maintained within the work area during your shift.
  • Ensure all environmental aspects and waste segregation are followed daily.

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • IT and communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and propose improvement ideas.
  • Good Health & Safety principles
The role requires an individual who is prepared to take ownership and be accountable for the manufacturing process. A flexible, can-do attitude is essential in this demanding environment.


Salary:
£10.92 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
