About the Role


As a Lecturer in Professional Practice and Learning, you will significantly contribute to ensuring students have high quality learning experiences on placement and in the academic environment.

As part of a placement team, you will provide pastoral and professional support to medical and physician associate students.

Working with academic and placement staff, you will help ensure students are adequately prepared for placement and supported in practice, as well as, conduct student debriefing and evaluate student experiences.

You will also contribute to teaching and assessment on campus relevant to your area of expertise. There will also be the opportunity to take on wider lead roles within the school to enhance your development.


You may contribute to the research activities of one of our Research Units to help meet the qualitative and quantitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence exercise.

The post provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in medical education within a supportive environment. You will join a dedicated academic team at an exciting time in the Medical School's development.


About You


You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.

A commitment to research and previous experience of teaching and/or supporting undergraduate and/or postgraduate students on health professional programmes is essential.

Experience of supporting or teaching medical or physician associate students or trainees would be an advantage.


It is important to note that the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and that this will form part of the conditions of offer of employment.
