Starting salary:
Grade 2: (Minimum non-London based) £27,049 per annum or (Minimum London based) £31,126 per annum (Salaries pending pay review uplifts) + Excellent Benefits


Hours:
Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday


Location:
London office-based (with hybrid working arrangements)


Contract type:
Fixed term until 31st March 2025

Who we are


The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) is the professional body for speech and language therapists in the United Kingdom (UK).

We support and represent over 20,000 members while operating nationally across our office and members hubs in London, Belfast, Edinburgh, and Cardiff.

Our mission is to improve the lives of people with communication and swallowing needs by facilitating and promoting research, producing guidance, holding events, and influencing government.

We aim to promote better education and training for speech and language therapists and provide information to our members and the public about speech and language therapy.


The role


We are looking for a highly organised, motivated, and experienced Project Assistant to work in a small newly formed team to deliver an ambitious, specific work plan within 12 months.

Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will be key to support colleagues to be able to deliver a portfolio of projects from the NHSE (NHS England) Professional Body Education Reform Specification programme for RCSLT.

This post will support, add crucial administration, liaison, and planning for the project team.


This newly developed role requires experience in project support, administration, scheduling of meetings and events, collaborating with team members and stakeholders.

This role will be working in a core team of 5, and with other roles interfacing as the project evolves.


This is an excellent opportunity to work with AHP Professional Bodies, NHSE, members, service users and other stakeholders, and to deliver on an interesting and varied portfolio of projects.

  • Experience of project support, organisation, and administration, preferably in the health/education/social care sector
  • Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience of working in an agile way, being able to evaluate, review and amend plans safely and responsively
  • Be a creative thinker and demonstrate excellent management, administrative and organisational skills along with a varied portfolio of skills.
