The Opportunity


As a Front Line Worker Coach, this role will be based at the St Fergus Gas Plant facility, a key link in the SEGAL system and a key piece of UK Energy Infrastructure.

On site KAEFER form part of a multi-discipline execution team, providing Fabric Maintenance, Maintenance Support and Project Execution Services. We are actively looking for a Front Line Worker Coach to join the site team.

The purpose of this role will be in supporting and enabling effective, efficient and safe execution of work. You will interface with a variety of discipline parties, critically reviewing the preparedness to successfully complete scope.


General Description:

Daily work focuses on identifying improvement opportunities in the areas of safety performance and safety culture by:

  • Connecting with Supervisors to observe and identify coaching opportunities during the planning of work scopes.
  • Attending pretask meetings to observe and coach to close any 'gaps' in the content, raising the quality of the team communication.
  • Visiting worksites to observe frontline work being conducted, to identify and close 'gaps' by engaging with the line supervisor through coaching conversations.
  • Conducting regular and frequent coaching conversations with Site Managers.
  • Coaching Site Managers to improve the quality of the interactions in their worksite visits.
  • Observing and implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS) and coaching to achieve best practices.

Key activities:


  • Engage with frontline work teams & site leadership.
  • Identify 'Gaps' in job planning and execution and improvement opportunities.
  • Identify safety culture improvement opportunities.
  • Coach frontline task leaders and senior site leadership to facilitate behaviour change and safety culture improvements.

Success Criteria:

Effective Coaching conversations to influence behaviour change and improve safety culture.


Mindset:

Develops and maintains a mindset that is open, curious, and flexible.

Understands that those being coached are responsible for their own decision making but is able to influence these decisions by evoking without authority or force.


The Person

Essential:


  • 45 years industry experience
  • Strong people skills and ability to build rapport/ trust
  • Experience of engagement with permit to work systems, work planning and toolbox talks/ safety discussions
