We are looking for an Identity Lead to join our team.
Where in Wellcome will I be working?
You will be in-directly leading the Identity team within the Network Cloud and Workspace (NCW) team reporting to the Cloud Technology Manager.
The team will be responsible for managing and shaping all matters concerned with identity and access roles, active directory management and the identity access life cycle.
The NCW team manage Wellcome's Cloud & on-premise infrastructure, the identity estate, the end user compute technology and all associated network infrastructure.
What will I be doing?
The Identity Lead will be responsible for indirectly managing the Identity Access Management (IAM) team to provide fit-for-purpose, innovative and user-centric identity technologies that enable and advance Wellcome's ability to deliver it's strategy.
They will contribute as the Subject Matter Expert to cross-functional project teams where IAM technical skillsets are required, providing consultancy, architecture, design and implementation skills.
The role will also take accountability for the development, daily operations, integration and maintenance of IAM technologies and development of the IAM strategic roadmap.
As an Identity Lead, you will:
- In-directly matrix-manage the Identity & Access Management (IAM) engineer within Digital & Technology (D&T); be responsible for leading an inspiring, innovative and technically advanced team, promoting a culture of inclusivity and diversity that ensures a commitment to anti-racist and anti-ableist outcomes
- Be trusted with the design, procurement, development, operation, integration and maintenance of IAM technologies and deliver strategic, user-centric outcomes for Wellcome
- Be trusted with the IAM strategy and roadmap, ensuring the technology will meet the needs of the organisation today and in the future and balances positive user experience, access, compliance and confidentiality
- Make sure that all the architectural and Information Security principles set out in D&T are adhered to by the IAM team
- Ensure an optimal and efficient service provided to Wellcome by overseeing the operation activities of the IAM teamIs this job for me?
We are looking for someone who:
- Has extensive practical and demonstrable experience in one or more of; computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field
- Has advanced understanding of IAM concepts, including federation, authentication, authorization, access controls, access control attacks, identity and access provisioning life cycle
- Has demonstrable experience in implementing, maintaining and improving Identity Management platforms including; Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, AWS Identity & Access Roles
- Has a proactive approach towards product ownership and continuous improvement
- Has experience with administrating authentication technologies, such as Microsoft Active Directory/Windows authentication, OpenLDAP, Shibboleth, SimpleSAMLphp, Kerberos, OpenID Connect, OAuth, and federated identity management
- Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments.
