The HPC Jobs Service supports local people into exciting, long-term careers across our Project.Quality Inspector working with Darchem Engineering on the Hinkley Point C Project.
Contract:
Initial 12 month contract
Hours:
(65 per week ave) Average 12 hour day working a 10/4 pattern
Main Duties:
- To support the Darchem Quality Team with inspection activities related to large scale stainless steel fabrication.
- Demonstrates a right first time approach with regard to Quality and site activities undertaken.
- Promotes a safe working environment, comfortable challenging unsafe behaviours at all levels of the business.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to effectively manage and communicate with key internal and external stakeholders such as Client Inspectors, Delivery/Construction Teams, Contract Partners.

Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- CSWIP 3.1 (Minimum/Essential)
- PCN Level 2 DPI (Essential)
- PCN Level 2 RT or RI
- Welds (Desirable)
- PCN Level 2 MPI (Desirable)
- CCNSG Safety Passport or MAPS
The ability to obtain BPSS clearance is essential.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years as a Quality Inspector / Welding Inspector desirable, however other backgrounds which support QC would be considered.
- Experience of large scale, complex stainless steel fabrication projects advantageous but not essential.
- Experience managing interactions with 3rd party client Inspectors.
- Demonstrable competence in reading and understanding technical drawings and specifications.
- Competent in the use of standard inspection and measuring equipment e.g. verniers, welding inspection gauges.
- Competent user of Field View and Asite would be advantageous.
- Previous work on Nuclear Licensed sites or on projects undertaking fabrication for Nuclear Licensed sites desirable.
