About Us:
We put the safety and wellbeing of people above all else. Do you?
At the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, we place great value on keeping our residents safe and well.
As an organisation, we are constantly under scrutiny, but this makes us more determined than ever to provide our community with services that they trust implicitly.
Join us in our forward-thinking team, and you will find a challenge like no other, in one of London's most iconic boroughs.
The Role:
As our Assistant Safety Advisor within our busy yet fun Health, Safety and Resilience team, you will find a dual-pronged role in which you will keep both our local residents and our amazing colleagues safe.
Firstly, you will keep our most vulnerable residents safe from fires in their homes by seeing to it that person-centred fire risk assessments (PCFRAs) are being completed to the highest standards, and that the relevant control measures are put in place.
Secondly, you will ensure we are providing a safe working environment for our team by carrying out specialist risk assessments across a variety of areas such as display screen equipment, first aid, manual handling and so forth.
From investigating accidents through to developing safe working procedures and advising on emergency planning, you will find a uniquely varied and fulfilling role.
Providing our teams with the most current health and safety advice and conducting site safety inductions, this is very much a hands-on role in which you will be working with everyone from members of our community and our team through to the London Fire Brigade.
As such, every day will provide you with plenty of interaction opportunities and the chance to make a difference to the safety of countless people.

About You:
With the bulk of your working time being divided between the office and the community, with the possibility to work remotely on a set number of days during the week, this role would be well-suited to a detail-focused individual who is looking for a fascinating career opportunity.
From a practical point of view, you will have a background in health and safety, and if you have some knowledge of fire assessments, that would be helpful.
As you will be writing up reports following incidents and making recommendations on future accident prevention, you will need to have great research, record-keeping, data analysis and written skills, while the ability to put residents at ease is essential.
In turn, we can offer you a genuinely supportive workplace, in which your opinions and ambitions will always matter.
We will also provide you with a competitive benefits package that includes access to our desirable contributory pension scheme, plenty of annual allowance and a range of staff discounts.
