Heritage Portfolio are currently looking to add a
Kitchen Porter to our casual team at Café Portrait. We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team.

Café Portrait is a 100-seater, assisted counter-service Café situated in the Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh. We are much loved by our regulars for our location, our salads, soups, hot food and home baking.

The Kitchen Porter is a vital role; making service possible and providing support for the whole café team.

They need to enjoy organising themselves well, communicating positively with the whole team and taking pride in delivering sparkling clean equipment and premises in a fast-paced environment.


The role is based on 2 days per week ( Saturday - Sunday, Sunday - Monday )and will alternate each week. Shifts are usually 10:00am - 5:30pm but is dependent on how busy the Café is.

Rate of pay :
£11 per hour
Main Responsibilities

  • Operation of Dishwasher
  • Assisting with cleaning of the kitchen and keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy
  • Assisting with food preparation
  • Completing tasks in line with COSHH, Food Safety and Health and Safety regulations

Experience as a Kitchen Porter in a busy kitchen environment:
