The Role

Please note:
_This is a full-time, permanent position based in Edinburgh.

We are currently operating a hybrid working approach with a minimum of 3 fixed days required each week working from our Head Office in central Edinburgh.

Key responsibilities will include:


  • Ensuring all Inbound Transport, 3PL and Carrier partners are provided with a clear short and medium range forecast to enable them to accurately plan resources and skills required to deliver against our plans.
  • Managing the timely pickup and delivery of shipments into our UK and Spanish 3PL's from Raw material suppliers and Spanish based manufacturers.
  • Working with internal stakeholders (Merch / Ecom) to understand key sales metrics, you will be responsible for creating and communicating a clear distribution plan by channel (Retail Distribution, Domestic and International carriers) and working with our partners to ensure all deliveries are made OTIF.
  • Holding weekly forecasting and service reviews with our 3PL and carrier partners to ensure service is being met and, where required, improvement opportunities identified and followed through
  • Single point of contact for the 3PL warehouse.
  • Developing strong and integrated relationships with our Logistics partners (Inbound transport, 3PL and Carrier providers) and communicating our business demands to them accurately and frequently.
  • Overseeing daily 3PL transactions to ensure all required processes are completed in a timely manner each day including the processing of inbound shipments, replenishments, returns and outbound shipments.
  • Reconciling inventory on a weekly basis with the 3PL warehouse and internal stock systems.
  • Ensuring the 3PL are resolving stock discrepancies as needed and perform cycle counts when appropriate.
  • Liaising with Customer Services and 3PL warehousing functions to ensure returns and QC failed stock is handled and reported efficiently and appropriately.
  • Reviewing and auditing all Logistics partners invoices against agreed contract rates and service levels.
  • Supporting all departments within the company on international shipping requirements and related paperwork.
  • Managing the timely pickup and delivery of shipments into the 3PL from all suppliers
  • Working with internal stakeholders (Merch / Ecom) to create and then communicate a clear distribution plan by channel (Retail Distribution, Domestic and International carriers) and ensure OTIF delivery to each.
  • Ensuring all transport, carrier and 3PL partners are provided with a clear short and medium range forecast to enable them to accurately plan resources and skills required to deliver against our plans.
  • Working closely with the carrier and 3PL partners to ensure peak operations are planned in detail, clearly communicated, and executed with precision to ensure service levels are maintained through critical trading periods.

Key skills / experience required

  • 3+ years' experience working in fastpaced logistics environment
  • Thorough understanding of 3PL warehouse operations and both the domestic and international carrier networks
  • Must have a basic understanding of the customs procedures and documentation requirements to ship goods cross border
  • You will have worked in a start up / scale up business and can demonstrate an ability to shape and create repeatable processes in an everchanging environment
  • You will be analytical with strong Excel capability and will be passionate and obsessive about continuous improvement, demonstrating an ability to test and learn.
  • Ability to negotiate and benchmark freight rates and services.
