We are a small 18 bed care home looking for a nights care assistant to do around 24-36hrs depending on the rota.
Training is preferred but not essential as this will be given. The ability to carry out further training is available. Weekends and bank holidays will be required. Medication handling and cleaning duties to be completed during the night. For more information please give the home a call onBrief job description:
- Assist clients who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and toileting.
- Help clients with mobility problems and other physical disabilities such as incontinence
- Cleaning duties throughout the night of communal areas and bathrooms, ensuring infection control procedures are applied.
- To maintain cleanliness around the Home and of all equipment. Any major spillages or marks to be reported to the domestic staff. As a member of staff you are required to follow the Homes Infection Control Policy and Procedures
- Serve meals and assist clients at supper if required.
- Answer the nurse call in a quick and efficient manner
- Read and write reports in the care plans. Ensure all documentation of residents is completed and signed. All details must be accurate and written immediately after task is completed.
- Take part in staff meetings and also in training activities as required.
- All staff are responsible for protecting themselves and others against infection risks. All staff regardless of whether clinical or not are expected to comply with current infection control policies and procedures and to report any problems with regard to this to the manager. All staff undertaking patient care activities must attend infection control training and updates as required by this organisation.
- Ensure bathroom, shower rooms and toilets are cleaned after use and at any time you find them in need of cleaning
- Report any complaints, concerns, incidents, accidents or grievances to the Home manager
- Must participate in the training policy of the Home including medication training
