Why does this role exist?


The Certification team within BRE is a leading provider for the approval of a range of products and services, including renewable technologies relevant to the Keymark and MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) schemes, such as Photovoltaics and Heat Pumps.


The Certification team have a large number of client projects and FPC (Factory Production Control) audit approvals and now require additional support in delivering these.

The value this role will add:

The Certification Coordinator is responsible to give support to our clients and the Certification Team Leader for product approvals to enable delivery of projects within the required timescales.


Responsibilities include:


  • Assessing products and processes to ensure compliance with a range of technical standards including both MCS and EN standards.
  • Scoping and preparing proposals, reviewing customer documents and product technical information.
  • Interfacing with customers to request information, provide project updates and answer technical enquiries.
  • Project managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Maintain and update customer, finance and product data records.
  • Generate certificates and issue to the client once approved.
  • Carry out FPC audit reviews.

How will success be measured?

  • Regular meetings with Certification Team Leader to prioritise work and monitor progress, ensuring that client expectations are met.
  • Support Certification Scheme Managers with their project deadlines to ensure financial targets are met for the month.
  • To provide a high quality standard of service and work to our clients.
  • Ensuring scheme requirements and that work is completed within a suitable timeframe.

What experience and skills does the role need?

Essential

  • Excellent organisational, written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience of reviewing documentation in line with requirements.
  • Be fully conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and databases.
  • Experience of using inhouse databases/systems.
  • A team player who can also work autonomously.
  • An ability to prioritise workload where applicable, project managing time effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills you will need to communicate technical issues to a range of people including clients with limited technical knowledge and clients who do not speak English as their first language.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with EN standards such as BS EN 61215 or BS EN 1451
  • Knowledge of the MCS Standards.
  • Knowledge of Photovoltaics or Heat Pumps.
  • Experience of UKAS or similar audits.
