SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator)
Location:
Ealing, London
Start Date:
September 2024
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective support for students with SEND
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Oversee the assessment and monitoring of students' progress
- Provide training and support to staff on SEND strategies and best practices
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and school policies related to SEND
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) is essential
- Proven experience in a SENDCo role or similar position
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
