The Green Recruitment Company are working alongside one of the world's largest energy businesses in their search for an Energy and Renewables Originator.

This client is committed to accelerate the transition towards a carbon-neutral world, through reduced energy consumption and more environmentally-friendly solutions.


The Role:


To develop, negotiate and implement contracts to purchase electricity and gas exported to the Grid by generators, together with embedded benefits and any associated green certificates to support the retail business and carbon zero agenda.

Develop and manage a prospect pipeline, identify, and contract new business and to account manage a portfolio of existing customers.


Responsibilities:


  • Accountable for the delivery of budget export margins on an individual basis within the Power Purchase team; sign New Business and renew existing business.


  • Business Development

  • Establish contact and build relationship with potential new business partners including banks, financiers, consultants, lawyers or direct customers.
  • Account Management maintain and develop relationships with existing customers. Organise and attend events and meetings.


  • Build Portfolio

  • Origination of Power, Gas and Renewable Certificates. Propose PPA deals to internal stakeholders to attain sanction according to internal processes. Follow internal governance (including writing investment proposals) and present proposals to UK and European board level.


  • Product Development

  • Provide intelligence for and assist the Product Development Team in researching and developing a range of marketleading Export Products, PPAs and Corporate PPAs.


  • Power Purchase Visibility

  • Participate in marketing and branding efforts in alignment with our marketing team including developing insight pieces to increase the visibility of the client's power Purchase capabilities externally and run training and development internally. Participate in events and represent the company in the markets at conferences, fairs, etc.

Your Profile:


  • Ability to negotiate complex longterm contracts, often within multiparty scenarios.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of UK Energy wholesale and Retail markets.
  • Excellent knowledge of all applicable current and future legislation impacting the renewable energy market.
  • Appreciation of key drivers and contract requirements for renewable generation developers, lawyers, banks and equity investors.
  • Ability to identify and reconcile business and customer needs in order to build bespoke products and develop current PPA product suite.
  • Innovative and proactive approach to solving complex problems.
  • Complete understanding of the legal contractual suite required to deliver a new build renewable project.
  • Knowledge of Retail pricing policies/ methodologies and systems.
