**Job description
Job descriptionJob description***As a Material Handler you will be primarily responsible for moving, storing and distributing rail and materials around the site and manufacturing factory. You will be required to drive and operate machinery such as forklifts, sideloaders and overhead cranes to move rail and materials to and from the storage area to the factory.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Loading & Unloading of Rail and Materials from vehicles,
- Rail & Materials transported around the site and factory,
- Emptying of swarf skips
- Driving and operating plant i.e. Forklifts, Side loaders, Tele trucks and Overhead Cranes,
- Stock Rotation of all Rail and Materials on Site,
- Supporting the shop floor and operating different types of machinery as and when required,
- Carrying out Essential Maintenance work and cleaning work within the required timeframe,
- Operating different types of machinery on the shop floor,
- Saw
- Drill
- Hydraulic Press
- Mobile plant
- Forklift/Sideloader
- Over Head Cranes
QualificationsQualifications***- Experience working within Production Environment and/or Railway Industry would be advantageous, but not essential,
- FLT License & Over-Head Crane Experience would be advantageous, but training and certification will be provided,
- Experience with Heavy component Material Handling desirable,
- Ability to work in line with production schedules,
- Meet daily/weekly/monthly production targets,
- Ability to diligently follow Health & Safety measures as this role is in a Safety Critical environment, working in close proximity to various moving mechanical parts, overhead cranes and mobile plant traffic,
- Must be a selfstarter, diligent, punctual and the ability to demonstrate strong initiative,
- A keen eye for process optimisation and CIP activities,
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team,
- All key discipline areas will require training and competence as part of the progression program.
