Pay Rate:
£24,000 - £30,000

Our client is a well-established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham centre. They are looking to recruit for the position of a Quality Inspector for the shop floor area
- covering Machine shop & Fabrication.


ROLE OVERVIEW:


Reporting to the Quality Manager your responsibilities will be the day to day managing of in progress inspection and checks on machined parts in the machined area, checking work that comes out of welding bay and paint shop to ensure that it is aligned to drawing and paint surface finish is correct and acceptable.

Working and supporting the CMM inspector as and when required.

Raising non-conformances and following the closure of the non-conformances in a timely manner and carrying out verification to ensure non-conformances actions have been implemented.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspecting and checking finished parts coming from, suppliers, subcon, machine shop, fabrication, and paint area before going into stores
  • Inspect and check finished machined incoming Parts from suppliers
  • Supporting the CMM inspector
  • Provide monthly performance reports
  • Support the department

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, interpret and interrogate engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing essential.
  • Can measure parts using manual measuring equipment
  • Able to carry out investigations and write reports
  • Dimensional and visual inspection of piece parts, partially and completed assemblies to drawing requirements
  • Familiar with problem solving techniques
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal staff to help resolve queries when required
  • Familiar with Visual Inspection and FAIR Process
  • Able to communicate at all levels
  • Review and assess non conformances
  • Knowledge of CMM and Measuring Equipment
  • IT skills and be able to use computer
  • Familiar with words/excel/power point
