Our client based in Cheltenham is seeking an experienced Network Engineer, Network Administrator or IT Network Team Leader to join as their Team Lead during an exciting period of transformation.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to remainhands on whilst leading a small team and working with latest technology with plenty of project work.

What will you be doing as IT Network Lead?

  • Responsible for networks, managing BAU, support and personal development of the team.
  • Working closely with 3rd party vendors
  • Manage the design, specification, and selection of information systems, taking into account functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure, and performance.
  • Ensure that technology is exploited by the organisation and helps to drive change and support business processes by assisting with the integration of the first solutions, testing and assurance.
  • Identify and document any risks, issues or critical success factors that may require immediate or eventual remediation action.
  • Ensure capabilities are reviewed and compliant within defined risk levels while considering hardware/software currency, performance/availability, security and information/transaction integrity.
  • Taking ownership for and providing specialist design support relating to your technology portfolio Cisco, Meraki
  • Day to day line management of Junior team members and upskilling them around technologies
What experience should you have?

  • Previous experience in a Network Administrator or Network Engineer role
  • Previous experience with Cisco Switches, Firewalls, Meraki and Azure connections
  • Exposure to line moves, change and new sites
  • MPLS, SDWAN and VPN, firewall rules, routes
  • Previous experience of working with 3rd party vendors
  • Working with junior team members and either leading or coaching them
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement
