Mechanical Apprentice

Working hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (40 hours)

Location:

This role is split between Orbital's Staffordshire-based workshop for build and client sites across the UK and Europe for installation.

This role reports to the Workshop Manager and Site Manager.

Primary duties

Attend apprenticeship training programme one day a week.
Shadow experienced Mechanical Pipefitters to learn various build and installation techniques
Learn the techniques of bending smallbore and largebore pipefitting
Learn welding techniques
Follow schematics provided by Engineering department to assemble panels
Prepare built items for test
Conduct installation work under supervision on client sites
Work to Orbital standards
Comply with Health & Safety regulations plus Orbital rules and regulations at all times

Secondary duties

Essential skills, experience and qualifications

Ability to get to the office in Stone, ST15 0QN and ability to get to the training provider in Burslem.
Ability to work alone and in a team.
Be driven and willing to learn the trade.
