Salary:
£25,000 - £30,000 dependant on experience.

Working days and hours:


Monday to Thursday, 8:00-16:15 Fridays, 8:00-15:00.
Due to the location, it is essential that you can drive and have your own transport.


Innovative company based in Upper Heyford, are looking for a Technician with a background in electronics, to assist with the manufacture of high-tech products used within the automotive industry.

This position is initially available on a contractual basis for a few months, however, for the right individual there could be potential for the role to turn permanent.

You will be responsible for the assembly of all products marketed by the business underthe direction of the Production Manager.

To be considered for the position, it is essential that you have strong technical experience within a similair role/ you are proficient with the use of small hand-held tools for electrical assembly, i.e., screw drivers, hex keys, small wrenches, snipping toolsand soldering irons.


Technician responsibilities;:


  • Manufacture to a high standard, and in accordance with relevant work instructions, all cables, components and subassemblies produced by the company in house
  • Understand any modifications required to the standard specification as notified in the order acknowledgement or directed by the Production Manager or appropriately authorised member of staff
  • Use dedicated company software to programme microcontrollers and logic devices comprised within the company's products
  • Test all completed products in accordance with relevant work instructions
  • Fit electronic boards to a test jig and verify their operation using computerized testers
  • Ensure correct documentation of the tests
  • To calibrate all completed products in accordance with relevant work instructions
  • Have basic working knowledge of BS EN ISO17025:2005 and how its requirements relate to the calibration activity
  • Competence with Word, Excel and Windows, and an ability to learn to use other software used in production processes
  • Maintain and update such other records as the company shall from time to time require. Currently these are a calibration table log, a temperature chamber test log, a debugging log, a purchase order record, an accident book to ensure that a risk assessmenthas been carried out and to observe any precautions demanded or recommended by it
  • Prepare a work done report in the form required by the company, and provide a hard copy for the Finance Manager
