Mechanical Design Engineer

Based near Didcot
Possible Hybrid Model position
Up to £60k DOE
25 days holiday + Bank holidays

Syntech Recruitment are excited to be recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Technology client who are a breakthrough provider of optical monitoring equipment.

Based at their site near Didcot, you will work in a small Mechanical Engineeringteam working on harsh enviornment sensors.

Mechanical Design Engineer Duties

Be involved in mechanical design of optical sensors for harsh environments
Provide guidance and training to less experienced engineers and provide reviews of their work
Design tasks will include the selection of materials, definition of part geometry for mechanical, thermal, vibration and pressure loads
Use Solidworks CAD and Solidworks FEA to design products
Design and develop necessary tooling to support manufacture,
Carry out engineering changes to existing design, verification and implementation
Hands on engineering building test rigs and fixtures

Mechanical Design Engineer Profile

5+ years experience within an Aerospace / Oil&Gas / Automotive enviornment
Able to create models using Solidworks CAD
Knowledge of FEA using Solidworks FEA tools
Experience / understanding of FMEA
Expertise in engineering drawings, Geometric tolerancing and DFM
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as Bonding, Welding, Brazing and Etching
