    Description

    Southwark Council is seeking an experienced Fostering Placement/Brokerage Officer to join their Access to Resources Team.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Ensure suitable placements for children and young people, monitoring referral patterns and Independent Fostering Agencies (IFAs).
    • Develop and manage systems to track referrals, placements, and endings.
    • Deliver a responsive service alongside the Fostering Service, ensuring all parties are informed about placements.
    • Souce and negotiate suitable placements, contributing information about the market for health services.

    The role requires hybrid working, with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week and 5 days when on duty.

    Key Requirements:

    • Experience as a highly motivated and well-organized colleague who understands the importance of securing placements and support for children.
    • Ability to work independently, seeking advice when necessary and using supervision to identify strategies for building professional resilience.
    • Contribution of expertise to group and individual supervision processes, supporting evidence-informed judgements in complex cases.

    Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
